Peter Kay's Car Share

The day time and channel of the programme.
Tuesdays at 9pm on BBC One.

Who produced the programme?
It was produced by the BBC. BBC is a broadcasting corporation and is a British public service broadcaster. It focuses on breaking news, sport, TV and radio. It's purpose is to inform, educate and entertain.

Who commissioned the programme?
It was commissioned by Charlotte Moore, director of BBC content. The BBC is the world's oldest national broadcasting organisation and is based at the broadcasting house in London.

What audience is it aimed at? Why?
It is aimed at a young adult/adult audience in the audience demographic categories of: B, C1, C2 and D. This is because of the narrative pleasures within the programme that would only appeal to a  working and middle class audience. It is not aimed at a young audience because it is on after the watershed, meaning that some of the content/humour is inappropriate for a young audience.

Why is the programme on after the watershed?
It is on the BBC and not CBBC or Cbeebies so the audience demographic is based around a young adult/adult audience. Also, because it is a sitcom it has be on after the watershed as some of the content/humour could be inappropriate for younger audiences.

What is the watershed?
It is the time on the TV (9pm) where anything shown before must be appropriate for young audiences.

What is one of Peter Kay's notable successes?
In 2010, his stand-up comedy tour was in the Guinness World Records as the most successful of all time.

What programmes and characters is Peter Kay known for?
Tommy in the Catherine Tate show, Fred Baker in Cradle to Grave, That Peter Kay Thing and Phoenix Nights.
